Shiny new blog, same old waffle

Welcome to my shiny new page! All the posts from the last 6 years (grief it’s strange to think how long ago my journey to this point actually started!) have been lovingly moved over, and I’ve put them into categories and given them tags too. I’ve managed to get all the pre-cadetship sailing posts into the right place, so it’s now one blog instead of two. At some point I might even put a photo up as my header, but this one will do for now.

I know the font on some of the posts is a bit small, there doesn’t seem to be a font size option in the publisher, so if it’s too small, zoom the page in a bit!

I’m off back to the wilds of the South Atlantic on the 17th (my birthday 😦 ) and will be attempting to send blogs via email from time to time, so fingers crossed! Oh and I’ll be tring to knuckle down and edit a ton of photos too.

Oh and by the way, I passed my driving theory this leave!

One Response to “Shiny new blog, same old waffle”

  1. Hi!

Just a quick message to say thank you for writing such an entertaining blog. I always had vague dreams in the back of my head of becoming an officer on ships – but in reality, I can see that I had nowhere near the passion / dedication needed to make it.

I’d like to share a little story with you – I’m a primary school teacher in a bilingual school in Poland, and today was an Easter meeting with the kids and parents – they come, they eat nice things and so on. Of course, there’s always a little performance by the kids. All fine and well, and normally they do an English show and a Polish show.

Normally. Except this time, the Polish teachers couldn’t be bothered (they had just performed a huge show a month earlier in Polish in front of a fairly large crowd) doing anything – so they left it to me. Eek. As late as Monday, some of the kids were still squabbling over their parts (they had to make up a dance routine to songs – without help) – and it could easily have completely failed.

But it didn’t, I’m glad to say 🙂 It went amazingly well, and I think I finally “get it” – it’s only taken two years! But I felt from reading your blog that you had that similar sense of accomplishment too – so I thought I’d share this with you!

And now to bed, like a true rock and roll star 🙂 But – thank you for such a good read!
